Investment Philosophy
Investment Philosophy
Our investment philosophy hinges on three pillars: experience, cognitive framework, and a disciplined and repeatable process.
Experience and Expertise Matter
- Each of our PMs have over 30 years of investment experience, including over 25 years at Marvin & Palmer. Living and investing through many market cycles allows them to recognize patterns in today’s markets.
- Keeping your emotions in check is one of the biggest challenges of investing. You can only learn how to handle stressful periods (Peso Crisis, Asian Financial Crisis, Dot-com Bubble, GFC, COVID, etc.) by experiencing them.
Cognitive Framework
- Keeping your brain free of biases and full of objective information is essential for successful investing.
- We have been using a proprietary price screening system for decades. These screens give us an objective view of what is happening in the markets.
- Our advisory board contains experts from the most relevant fields (foreign policy, finance, and business) to global investing. In our bimonthly meetings, their impressive and unique perspectives help give us a broad and holistic view of the world.
Disciplined and Repeatable Process
- We are process driven and utilize a time-tested approach.
- The more complicated a system is, the more likely it is to break down. Our goal is to make our process as simple as possible, but not simpler.
- Risk is a part of investing. We match our conviction levels with the projected volatility of the portfolio.
